Open Source Firewall

There are a number of Open source firewall software and free to use in different environments.  However, some open source firewalls are providing basic features only and the advanced features should be paid.  We are providing basic information on some popular open source firewalls with the list below (click on the name to review):

  1. IPcop – a popular open source firewall with long history and good reputation. (Remark: our service team is the 1st team providing IPcop commercial support in the greater China area.)
  2. IPfire – another popular firewall from the forks of SmoothWall.
  3. M0n0wall – it was released as a static firewall on top of FreeBSD.  On February 15, 2015 Manuel Kasper announced the “m0n0wall project has officially ended. No development will be done anymore”.
  4. OPNsense – a young and popular stateful firewall by the forks of pfSense.
  5. pfSense – a stateful firewall based on FreeBSD with longest history with most of the advanced Enterprise features such as Clustering
  6. Zeroshell – a router/bridge Linux Firewall able to handle load balancing and multiple WAN
  7. Zero Truth – a Linux based distribution dedicated to the implementation of Router and Firewall Appliances completely administrable via web interface
